    IMG_1400.jpg Hi all-

Just found this place with a quick google search. I'm a part time thrifter in PA, who mostly like to dabble in vintage toys, comics, and electronics.

I happened upon this chair at my local Goodwill yesterday, and knew it was well worth the $12.99 I paid for it. I wanted to share my find with a community who would appreciate it. I can post more pictures later if requested.

As far as I can tell, it's an office chair manufactured by Milwaukee Chair Company, no earlier than 1914, the patent date on the hardware. Some quick research leads me to believe it's an oak chair, and all of the hardware appears to be brass.

Know anything more? I'd love to know.

    Thanks!

    -Norman

You got this for a nice price. I recently sold one, in excellent condition, that had an inventory plate from a County Court House in Florida for 10x what you paid! Nice...................

Casters would not be original but looks great otherwise. Can't tell wood from this pic. I certainly would have snatched it up at that price.

    Hello all-

Thanks for the warm welcome yesterday. I'm posting a bunch of new photos that I took last night. They're not the best quality in the world, but give you a better idea of what the chair looks like.

Brad - It's funny that you mention the casters, because I took a close up of one of them, because I was so impressed with their construction. What indicates that they are not the original casters?

Hope you all have a great day!

Those casters have only been in existence since the 70s or so. Maybe 60s.
NOTE!!! Do not use them on a parquet floor!!! :p

Brad. None of these had wooden wheeled casters or even iron ones?

King is right about the age of the casters. It would have had casters. Just not these. Usually rubber over iron hubs from this era. Earlier ones would have had all metal or wood wheel casters. The wood is birch stained to mimic mahogany on this.
