Hello Everyone! I have this little blue and white duck figurine that I am having trouble identifying. I can make out the word "Handpainted" but not the word(s) above it. I was able to find the same duck with another number (47021) on the bottom but the listing was of no help as to manufacturer. It measures about 3 1/2" long and 1 3/4" tall. I'm wondering if a Made in Japan sticker has fallen off. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
    Don

I think it says Delft Blue. Ooh, sniped, but I agree.

I think it's an import from somewhere other than Holland. Japan or China would be guesses. The Dutch are pretty good at labeling and should say Made in Holland or something along those lines. Either way it's kind of a souvenir quality rather than high end. Cute though. The use of "handpainted" sometimes means screen printed with a hand applied wash of color or minimal hand painting so something to be aware of.

This is a similar mark though not the same.
NKI, Nederlandsche Keramische Industrie, used a crown mark (NKI initials in the crown) Delft Blauw mark that is similar. Info from Discovering Dutch Delftware.

Thank you, SIS! The lack of a country name in the mark definitely bothered me.
