Does anyone recognise this black lacquer box

    Hi all,
    I was wondering if anyone has any information on this box. It’s appears to be made of wood, it’s very thin and light. My mum found it whilst clearing out my grans house, but we think that it may have belonged to my grans mother. We have no idea when it was made but do think that a relative may have bought it back from travels in Asia. Any ideas or clues would be greatly appreciated.

    looks like a kid glove box...
    maybe Japanese ...... early 1900's.......and your pic looks upside down..

    could also have been used for a fan.....or documents..... there are many to be found..
