I actually found this book in a dumpster at our local dump. I heard the book "The Last Men of the Revolution" was very limited production, I was wondering if anyone knows more about how many copies were printed?

but my computer is just too slow, so I don't know the full content.
Isn't someone here a member of the Massachusetts Historical Society?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

WorldCat shows 154 holding libraries for the 1864 edition. This book was also reprinted in the 20th century and the original edition is available in digitized form online.

I haven't tried to find the publication information on the 1864 edition, but I think this would be a popular topic. There are books published much more recently about people who lived during Revolutionary times who were photographed in the 19th century. And I know of at least one person who collects daguerreotypes and other photos of such people.

Thanks, I still would like to find out more. I know the Massachusetts Historical Library has an identical copy with additional information about it, at some point I'll stop by and ask them if they can look at it for me.

I can only read some of the handwriting on what looks like the flyleaf, but it starts with 'Gentlemen", and is signed "NA and RA Moore", publishers. Could this possibly be a review copy, or presentation? If so, even better, I think.

Hi artsfarm if you read the link moreotherstuff provided it talks about the letter in the front of the book which unfortunately is a facsimile of a letter written by Edward Everett, the governor of Mass. 1853-1854. The letter was written a day before he died. It does however add significant value, but not as much as it would, had it been a real Edward Everett letter.

Ah ok thank you; I hadn't checked the link. That was off the top of my head, thinking it was handwritten. Thanks :)
