Featured Sterling Brooch

    Greetings,

    Here’s the brooch from earlier on the Finds thread. No marks apart from the sterling on the back. Does this design look familiar to anyone? I can’t place it against other pieces I've seen.     I like it! Judging by the pin and clasp, it's antique. It reminds me a bit of cut steel jewelry; perhaps the stamped rosettes on it were meant to have a similar effect.

    I have never seen it either, but my guess would be one of the Arts & Crafts styles, so ca 1900.

    Makes me think of Charles Horner "STAYBRITE", made for looking like marcasites set on silver, but this is not;)
    More elaborate, and older! Agree with end 19th era:joyful:

    I am not so sure that it is an old piece; the pin indicates end of 19th century, but the craftsmanship is not that good. I do not like how the pin is attched to the brooch. My guess is that it is a younger preproduction/"inspired" copy or a newer brooch pretending to be an older original
