    Anyone any ideas please?
Centre has striations- celluloid? Wavy but no crossing that I can see. Pendant is c2.75 inches tall.
    Thanks for looking :)

Contemporary with the necklace or robbed from something older?

I admit to being far from certain. I looked through my photos of cameo materials, comparing back & forth Celluloid/similar & ivory & it didn't help me at all. It is the look of the edge that pushes me in the direction of natural material; it has a Schreger-y look to me.

Could well have been salvaged. My sense is that the necklace is a bit older than OBB reckons. I would have guessed 1950s, more beatnik/Bohemian than hippie. Celluloid fell out of use as other plastics that were less flammable came along. Of course, could be a shard of repurposed Celluloid, but I'm sticking with the I-word, just to be contrary.

I'm thinking early 70s because I have copper pendants that were Ma's which have the same style look to them.
