Papier Mache Figure

    I think Mexican. An angel stomping Diablo/Devil.

    Are you sure it's papier mache, and not carved wood?

    I thought it was papier mache. Maybe mixed materials.

    Could be gesso over a soft wood, then painted.

    Depends on the price, of course. It would probably appeal primarily to Mexican folk art collectors. That's a rather limited market, and usually those collectors are looking for either the very rare and top-of-the-line, or very unusual and inexpensive. So this wouldn't fit the first category, but if the price were right, it might fit in the second.
