D H Winder painting that i found

    again i found this in my gramps loft any the artist i now believe is Daniel H Winder im not sure on the age its not in the best condition as wasnt stored very well and needs cleaning see what you think any help at all would be fantastic

    please see the pics below

    Interesting here a picture sold at Bonhams, originally catalogued as by "Daniel H. Winder (British, 1880-1920)", signed with initials in a similar manner and dated 1917:

    BUT there's a correction to the catalogue, which reads "Please note the artist for this lot is David Horatio Winder (British, 1855-1933)". He was born in Bolton, Lancashire, in 1855. Here he is in the 1881 census:

    He was the son of a portrait painter also called David Winder (1824-1912)

    Thank you foe all the information it is very useful and answers some questions i had in faint pencil on the back it is called windermere

    painting.jpg According to Wiki, Windermere is the largest lake in England so I imagine a good many artists painted it.
