Chinese Oxblood Vase Resin Mounts

Wonder if it's a recent decorative piece and came the way it is or the mounts are later addition?
Without seeing the base I can't tell if older or not. Would you recommend removing it?
I't think if something with decent age, the mounts would be bronze/brass, not resin. Also, never seen such ringged foot on older Chinese vases.

 

You could try the hot pin test in an inconspicuous place.

It will be hard to remove the base without damaging the resin and the foot of the vase. How can I soften the glue or whatever they used? Hot soupy water?

 

This is a newer decorative piece from China. Have seen similar at Hobby Lobby, etc.

I really can't tell if newer before I look at the base. But if the mounts are original, then surely recent. Plus, if you've seen something like this in decore stores then no doubt it is newer.
But still curious so I'll attempt to remove the stand.
