    Hi All

I recently bought this strange small metallic sculpture from a second hand shop. It seems of Russian origin to me based on the carvings on it.I have taken multiple photos. Please help identify it, its markings, origin and its value.
    thanks in advance!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

We have a couple of Russian speakers here...
My guess, meanwhile --- some version of 'Winged Victory'... looks to me like pot metal, @1920?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The Russian word is Volgograd, and I assume that this piece represents the city in some way. Perhaps a souvenir? The word appears to be too prominent just to be the name of the place where it was made. Just as a guess, there may possibly be a statue in the city that looks like that???

Here is a Wikipedia article about the history of Volgograd. The city's name was changed to Volgograd by the Khrushchev administration in 1961, so your piece dates from 1961 or later.

I'll do a little more looking.

    thanks Figtree and GaleriaGila!
It seems my piece has lost the sword..:(
But nice to know the origin and history all the same...I guess value wise it is just tourist souvenir?
    Thanks
