    Are you asking whether it worked or how I did it? (the first option seems to be obvious):)

    I just wanted to see whether or not I could falsely quote myself.

    And it looks like you did it........:happy::happy::happy:

    The phrase , more or less..." and how did that work out for you ".....is semi rhetorical & semi sarcastic .....& meant to be humorous in the face of an obvious answer....

    Just goofin around !!! :happy::happy:

    Our chickens did not want to go out in the snow today. I pushed them out anyway to get some fresh air while I looked for eggs . The roosters were the first ones to get on top of the "tree" roost my son made. It's a center post with arms sticking out all the way around. As soon as I put some lettuce in the pen, they flew right down, though. They have what I call the Taj Mahal of chicken coops with heat lamps and comfy boxes.

    Maybe not what you are actually referring to, but can you still get lark in the game shops? I distinctly remember a lark pie I devoured ( and licked my fingers after) back in the 70s. Crunched those things up, bones and all....................delightfully delicious..........

    I used to love metal detecting though I could never get a really good grasp on finding items. I had plenty of practice, but I always had a hard time distinguishing between the different tones of different metals.

    One of my favorite finds was probably part of an old railroad watch I dug up in potter county, PA. There was not enough left of it to entertain the idea of restoring it, but it was just cool holding a piece of history and wondering how it made its way there.

    Other things I've found - a 1940's dog tag from Bloomsburg, a small engraved silver tab that I can only guess where it came from, plenty of coins (though none real old), a couple of bullets.

    It's been so long since I had to sell my white's detector (30 years maybe) that I can hardly remember what all I did find when I had it. More may come to mind after thinking about it more.

    Yes - especially when they see red (blood) - they go nuts and what ever chicken was bleeding is usually pecked to death if you don't rescue it first. That's why they actually made red colored "chicken glasses" to prevent this from happening on a chicken farm.

    Gee, I hadn't heard the word mudlark since reading Theodore Bonnet's The Mudlark back in the '50s. I may still have the book? Was it about a street urchin who snuck into the palace to see QV?

    I was talking to a friend about this thread and he brought out 2 pieces he found while metal detecting years ago, he thinks when he was in Ontario.
    I'll start a 'what are they' thread about them.
