Please help me identify this is pass down by generations to generations

    I hope that I can find out how much this jade cup really worth, this is pass down by my Grandfather and was told that it's pass down by his Grandfather ~ generation to generation . There's few chips here and there , it's about 1kg or more in weight , jade has many different Color tone in it .

    There seems to be like yellow substance there. Even at the TOP . But I can seem to post the picture as file is too big.

    It looks like there is a coating on it.
    Has it been coated with shellac? That would account for the yellowing.
