Hello everybody. This figurine has been in my large (about 400 pieces) collection for years. I made a lot of research but still have no idea who made it or age, neither can I ID the stamp. This milkmaid obviously has Asian features and clothes. But the stamp is not in Chinese. It is cyrrilic but not Russian. I cannot read it. It is pomoting a working woman, so it is close to socialist realism style. Maybe it is Mongolian or North Corean........? The porcelain is very thin, the figurine is light. I will appreciate it if anybody gives me any clue. I want to sell it but have no idea of its value. Its height 20 cm and it is in perfect condition. Mystery.jpg Mystery 2.jpg Mystery bottom.jpg

If it's Cyrillic it may be Bulgarian. Try putting the characters through a translator. The costume certainly looks Bulgarian.

Google gives this photo as national Bulgarian costume. That slash buckle on my figurine is typical for Korea/Mongolia/Vietnam dress

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I can't see all of the letters clearly... especially the second to last letter. Do you think the letters might be МОНХ ГДА ? I wonder whether it is an abbreviation of some kind?

I've learned that Google Translate does not know how to translate Mongolian into English!

That figurine is nothing like Korean or Mongolian or Vietnamese dress, be it national or street wear. And of course, Korean and Vietnamese don't use Cyrillic script. Edelweiss may also be a bit of clue.

A flower, but actually I'm naming that one on your figurine wrongly. It's not edelweiss, it's a small blue Alpine and mountain plant used for medicinal purposes. Got it. Gentian!

I cannot see the second to last letter. But it really looks like МОНХ ГД(?)А. Maybe somebody will recognize the stamp

Per Google translation, the Cyrillic word for Mongolia is Монголия in Russian, or Монгол in Mongolian. First three letters look right in either, but beyond that, I don't know.
