    I recently acquired this unusual style piece of RS Prussia from a very reputable auction house. Does anyone have an idea of what type of bowl this is and what is the mold number?

    Could it be a chilling bowl for wine stems?

    Don't know if this could count as a monteith, but it's a word to consider.

    I saw you also posted this piece on the PG&P board on ebay. There are a couple of excellent & very helpful members there that really know their RS Prussia. Hopefully they will check the board soon.

    The bowl is gorgeous!! :happy::happy:

    Welcome, redoctober. It's a lovely piece. I believe it is mold 348. I found it in Mary Frank Gaston's The Collector's Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia, Second Series, pg. 75, plate 182. I haven't been able to find the decal number (which is not unusual).
