I worry mine doesn't have a signature? Could that affect the price? I also thought 1950's/60's?

    Many thanks,

    Steph.

Can you read the word or make your best guess at the first word? The signature matters only in that some collectors collect by decorating companies.

Says Piotet, I'll look into that...

    Thanks Don.

Piotet and Chamart appear to have some type of relationship but I can't quite figure out what that relationship is. It may be that Piotet provides some of the boxes that Chamart decorates. I'll see if I can dig a little more.
The shell, though, is a nice piece simply because of its size. It's much larger than the typical Limoges box. Don

Ah that's great thanks Don!! I know, it's really big - too nice to sell on! Will be one I'll hold on to I think.

Just in case anyone was interested? I managed to get an email address for Chamart and they confirmed that it's definitely a genuine Limoges but the only clam design they produced was in pastel colours and definitely not white so back to the drawing board on where is was produced. He did say he would try and help me find out though, so hopefully he will come up with something? Very intriguing!
