Featured Just a design or is there a purpose?

    Hi all,

    I picked up a box of random bits from an online auction and there was a bag of old hankies, runners, doilies, etc. Anyway this cloth was in there and I haven’t seen one like it before. Is it just a military design? Or maybe something else. Anyone know anything about it?

    Think this would have been used for the back of a chair. There were probably two matching pieces for the arms. Madagascar Set? is that what they were called?

    As I was looking at it I thought why "anti"? What was macassar?

    Some woman got mad at her husband for ruining her furniture:joyful::joyful::joyful:
    So we have antimacassar sets.
