Vintage wood & brass dog theme poem desk calendar

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and keeping safe.
I saw this desk calendar on eBay auction and have never seen anything like it, so you know what they say "if you see something unusual and different or you have never see before", you buy it so I won the auction, didn't pay much but I have never seen a desk calendar inscribed with a poem. The poem is titled "To My Pal" I'm guessing it would have been a tribute to their pet dog and I'm thinking maybe 1930's and American or English and perhaps made specifically for that person as there are no markings or stickers to suggest maker or manufacture. It's only small 13.1cm x 8.4cm and is a brass plate on wooden backing. Any ideas?

I've not seen anything like it either.
The metal plate decor is in sync with a 1930s time period.
Westies and Scotty dogs were popular at that time
The buttons, and the back all indicate older.

Interesting piece.

 

Doubt it is one of a kind. Could be as early as the teens.

Good example, the poem and picture of the dog is exactly the same as the one on the desk calendar.

 

Thanks verybrad, so we are looking age wise 1925 to 1930. I thought it was around 1930's. Do you possibly have any idea who it was make from? Thanks

I don't think it is going to matter too much who made it.

Use perpetual calendar as a descriptive.
