    Hi, Folks-
Does anyone know anything about our candle holder. It' DSCN3670.JPG DSCN3671.JPG DSCN3672.JPG DSCN3673.JPG DSCN3674.JPG DSCN3675.JPG DSCN3676.JPG s hand blown of clear, thin-walled glass and the candle sockets have teal and green swirl iridescent finishes. Height is about 7-1/4" and it's 12" across. No marks save for an applied letter "Z" in pink glass on the one side near the top at the center. Any information as to maker, country of origin, date would be much appreciated, as always. TIA

    Could it be a menorah?

Possibly as there are both 9 and 7-branch menorahs. But the Scandinavians also used a similar device.

It's not a Hanukkah menorah - those traditionally should have eight branches plus a ninth "helper" which may or may not be attached. The seven-branched lampstands were used for other ceremonial purposes. This looks more Danish or Swedish than Jewish.

Also the 8 main cups of a Hanukka menorah are suppose to be all the same height, not staggered as this one is.

Thanks for the information all. Any ideas about the "Z" mark?

How could something like this even survive. Looks more like a hookah. Quite lovely though.

I was thinking more of a bong, if a lot more attractive than most.
