I think this is pretty cool, but really am clueless when trying to put a value on it. I know we don't really do values here but any opinions on weather this has any value?, Or maybe just more of a cool factor? I believe I found the maker of it here: Goerge William Sowell http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/ne...ary.aspx?n=george-william-sowell&pid=99500081 Anyway, apparently it was proposed artwork, but never used by the Navy for the Heavy Attack Squadron, in-flight refueling. It's about 14" x 11". Any thoughts are wonderful, thank you.
oh, I can see why they never used that one !!! Maybe the squadron might like it for their museum....if they have one....
Yes, thanks Komokwa, it really does have some humor there! Thanks Leedie! I know King likes Navy stuff. It's funny, this squadron was from Norfolk, VA, and that's where my son was stationed a few years ago.
I'd have jumped on that too. King would have beaten me too it and run off cackling. Unless he doesn't cackle. Maybe he'd chortle.
DUI - Distinctive Unit Insignia. Every group had their own. Maybe this group adopted a different one. I'd say you should contact someone from this group and ask. I'm sure there is an association. My husband was in the Navy for 31 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distinctive_unit_insignia
Thanks Bev tell your hubby thanks for his service. I guess this was proposed for there insignia but wasn't used. I believe this is the one that was used here https://bluejacket.com/usn/insignia/av/va-vd/vah15_insig.jpg
