Help identify mark?

Hi everyone, Can anyone identify this mark on the bottom of a small covered vanity box? I haven't found a similar mark online. Any help on age or what country it came from would be helpful. Thanks!

 

Looks like married pieces.

 

The sides are the same color, so I think they go together.

 

They don't fit very well to have gone together originally.

 

If it was a copy made in Japan during the 60s or later, or if it's a recent Chinese import; they could be original and not of the best quality.

 

It came from a very old estate, so it’s not new. The top and bottom fit fine. It is probably German? If anyone has seen this mark, please let me know. Thanks.

Well, I didn't say it was a BAD marriage! Perhaps the pieces would fit better if the lid were turned..?

 

Something similar is described as fake Volsted mark from china 1990s from paid database. The only difference is they have numbers underneath otherwise same.
