Chinese/Japanese porcelain mark?

    This is the mark on recently acquired pieces of a part tea/coffee Chinese or Japanese eggshell porcelain set. It is a painted mark and I am told that this is either one Chinese character or two Japanese characters. The characters in both languages mean stone/rock/mountain. Can anyone shed any light on the maker, location and age?

    I have seen this mark again and it is Japanese. Not sure of the reading though...

    Japanese pre WWII. Might even be pre WWI.
    Nice. Not what you normally see.
