    Hello Everyone,

I recently came across an item which was advertised as an 'antique compass'. Antique it is clearly not, perhaps vintage at best.

However, I was wondering what the item was actually intended to be used for, as it is clearly NOT your usual run-of-the-mill bog standard compass.
It gives me the impression of perhaps dating from the fifties/sixties and was probably intended for a specific technical purpose.

Perhaps any of you guys are aware of, or could possibly suggest, the intended use of this item ?????

    Many thanks in advance !!!!

Looks like a light meter for photography - measuring light levels, determining exposure settings.

    I know!
Today a friend had to get an EEG test and after asking a few questions the hospital tech turned on some strobe lights and then asked him what his impressions were. He replied - "It feels like I'm in Clockwork Orange!" - the young tech had no idea what he was talking about.:wideyed:

    Can't tell you how often I've heard, What's a cameo? & What's a locket?

Hope friend is not found to have a seizure disorder. Remember Andromeda Strain?

Hope so too - fainted on a hill walking the dog during the lockdown, fell about 20 feet and banged his head on a rock when he landed - the EEG is just a follow up, hopefully as it's his turn to buy coffee on Sunday!

Let's start a rumor that the coronavirus is really something that came back with the moon rocks & got loose from the lock down where they're kept. :astronaut:

In the late 70s a young teenager said to me "Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?"

And in the 90s someone said "There are two versions of Layla?"

    Both made me feel old!!!!!

in the 2000 years you could at least have told him that his wife Linda is playing a university secretary in Little Britain.
