Hello to all, I am back at the well for more help.
This little dish looks old but also is kind of roughly made. The image looks like a decal which probably means not old. The name on it comes up empty on my searches.
Some expert help would be appreciated as always.
    Thanks

It's a little souvenir pot for the ship Advance from the (inland) seaport Goole, Yorkshire, England. Not too new (but not very old either) from the look of it.

Known as crested ware as these things are usually miniature souvenirs with the crest of a city or place on them. The British firm, Goss, was a well-known manufacturer of these crested wares.

Thank you both for the reply, is the mark on the bottom the mark of Goss ?

No, it isn't. And now that I look, it may be German (the impressed numbers and non-glossy base make me think that). I've included a pic of the Goss mark.

Many of these crested wares were German up until WW1 and sometimes marked accordingly. German ones started to be imported in about the early 20s again, but were usually marked as Foreign. Given that this one isn't marked, it's possibly from the inter war period - certainly, no newer than the 1930s. But the numbering looks a bit older, as does the use of a late 19th C steam and sail ship . So probably just before WW1 and yes, I think German.

Shelley made these as well as Goss.

Advance has nothing to do with a ship name. It's a variant on the motto on the coat of arms of the town.

Thank you so much Debora, kentworld and OwnedbyBear. Very much appreciated. I wiil appear
stupid (not the first time) as I just emailed the Goole Historical Museum asking for information on the ship "Advance".

    I think they'll be lovely. ;)

The other company who made this stuff were Arcadian, I'd forgotten them.
