FWIW "R" has this as 'Gold Rose' by American Cut' (note stopper); prolly an import company

Wine was used to cleanse the pallet between courses so only a small amount was needed. Also several different wines were used depending on the course involved. They did not drink less just poured more often. Todays need to swig a half a bottle in the glass would have baffled them, it was what drunkards did in disreputable taverns.
