Is this antique and where is it possibly from? unknown decanter

    Wine was used to cleanse the pallet between courses so only a small amount was needed. Also several different wines were used depending on the course involved. They did not drink less just poured more often. Todays need to swig a half a bottle in the glass would have baffled them, it was what drunkards did in disreputable taverns.

    @clutteredcloset49 No way!!! Listen, you gave me a cool reference site that will help and you helped me identify something else I’ve had sitting around. I love any help, seriously. I think it’s so wonderful that we have each other to ask for help and that you guys care so much to lend a hand. The world should be more like this place!
