    These were originally used as storage vessels on Chinese ships. The many loops around the top were used to secure the vessels to ships.
    It is what we would call a Martavan, after Martaban, the old name for Mottama in Myanmar. There was once an important Chinese trading post in Mottama.
    As they are still making vessels like this one, we will need a lot of good, detailed pictures, also of the glaze.
