Asian? carving...Antique or repro?

I think it’s probably just a relatively modern decor item with applied patina, but then again maybe it’s not? Looks interesting smith to ask. Any thoughts? Chinese? Other Asian? Egyptian? Total fantasy?

    Can you show more angles of the hat? Looks like an animal head? But more photos might clarify that.

    It has the same style as a Blackamoor, hands held outwards to hold a tray.
