    I bought this oil painting several years ago, I am trying to find out who the artist is any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

    Going to need to provide a better pic of the signature. Think the name with '78 on the back is the artist.

    Very strange feel. The sun has a Botero-ish face. The fruits of the "harvest" are blood red root vegetables, only a few of which are left on the ground. A few of them are weeping. Must be a commentary on...something.

    Fantastic ! I agree with better pics , help us help you . :) Focus on the signature and the writing on the back .Definitely surrealist .Im mad for it !

    I like it, nice and quirky.
    With the moon and the chalice it almost looks sacramental. Or is that the theologian in me talking?

    Well, to me, that's a rather unintelligible signature, sorry to say.....but there are those here that ARE pretty good at deciphering them!!!!!!!:smuggrin::smuggrin::):) AND, WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!! I DO like the painting!!!

    "der Ernte" is "the harvest" in German--so harvest moon, I'm thinking.

    I was looking at the Sig on the back of the canvas frame that has the '78 date.......

    I think the signature on the front of the picture is a shortened version of the name written on the back before "78."

    It truly is a stunning oil Painting, personally I think it’s to good to be an amateur painter and to be a one off !! But for the life of me I cannot find any paintings similar, I’ve tried German, Dutch, and Danish artists ! Just stumped
