Very Early 1900's Tin Roof

Not sure where to post this because there's nothing related to old buildings. Demo'ing (needs to be torn down, cannot be renovated) and selling pieces from an old jailhouse in little town I live in. It was built in early 1900's (1907/1909).
Trying to figure out general value on certain things such as the tin roof and old steel, heavy jail doors. I have searched but I haven't come across any information yet. Can someone point me in right direction or give me a general value of what roof and doors could be worth?
    Thanks :)

    Id guess only scrap value.

If you mean the actual exterior roof, I'd agree, scrap value, though it is possible someone might want the doors, if they were interesting (steel bars, or just solid?)
If by some chance you meant the interior ceiling, decorative pressed-tin panels, those would have some value.
In either case, you might try to find an architectural salvage company.
There are several in Seattle, for example, and they take things that you'd expect would have only scrap value. They'll take them as donations if they are not worth actual money.

I see antique jail doors on eBay and Google searches. They seem to range from hundreds to over a thousand, depending on age and style.

Did you find any old handcuffs? Or anything else?

There's also 2 still intact steel jail bars and lots of old brick. It's too bad it can't be renovated. Awesome little building. And a part of the beginning of my towns history. So the tin roof is basically not worth much? So far haven't searched much info about the steel doors, there's 2 of them. Unsure what other things there may be, it was a bit dark inside. Thanks for all the quick responses :)!

So far haven't looked but will next time I go over there. It'd be interesting to come across handcuffs or things like that

Thank you for pointing me in right direction. I wasn't sure where to start. I will check around my area and see what I can find out.

Like All Fakes said, an architectural salvage company would be a great idea. I used one here a few years ago. They are a salvage company that also re-sells the old interesting items, in their downtown store. They did all the work, and kept 40% of the sales, but it was worth it for the large items that I had no idea what to do with.

    Hi,
I just saw on TV yesterday where they take corrugated tin roofing, flatten it out and then press it to make decorative ceiling tiles.

That's an awesome idea! Reusing is the way to go. I bet it looked really nice.

I will post a pic of the roof after I can get it to a smaller file size. Almost wondering if it is even tin.

The jails definitely have value. Would have to see the tin but would think it could be reused as rustic cladding for interior projects.

Your 'tin' would probably be galvanised steel. Usually referred to here as corrugated iron.

    Hi,
We use tin roof as a term for galvanized steel. The galvanized is a term for "tinned" steel.

This reminded me of the The Charles Street Jail in Boston. It was declared unfit because of over crowding and violated the rights of the prisoners. It eventually closed and sat empty for years. Then it became a luxury hotel and the designer left a lot of the original interior intact. I do remember them selling some of the doors and other parts. Here are some images of the hotel with people dining in a cell. The tall building in the background is Mass General Hospital.
