Nice find quirkygirl! Curious. Did you use image search? Myself had no luck with that.

Had a look at the one and it is not exactly the same. He talks about a series. What does he means with that? Did he painted the same painting more than ones? I did find many paintings with other subjects and many were similair to each other but just painted a bit different.. Need second third opinions on this.

    I quote the artist.
"My painting series "Chinese Fu" is the major works I created recent years; it has become a significant symbol of my art. I like those happy smiles, which are what I would to tell people, a kind of attitude of life, a kind of spirit of optimistic. It also wakes up people the treasure of real love in the world and the thought of life value. Of course, furthermore, it records the memories and dreams of my childhood"

I searched just with words ... don't remember exactly what combination worked, but I had to look at a bunch of paintings ON naked people and painting ON faces before I saw an example of a painting similar to yours.

Also within the search was an Alieexpress site that advertised creating copies of famous art (including Qui Shengxian ... although spelled differently)

I don't see any signature on your artwork. A Chinese painter will always sign his work. For better or worse, it has no value otherwise.

I'll still stick with Dafen on this. Plenty of "Warhols" and such there. And not everything is slapdash.

Know what you mean. I also found that website. Doesn't look like its one of them. It's massive in size circa 45x45 (115x115cm). They sell max 25x25 inch in size.

I keep in mind that this is a copy. But if it is a copy than why use expensive materials? Its painted on good canvas on a decent stretcher with a expensive frame in 45x45 inches. All in all it would have cost more than the $45 alibaba website is asking. To have it framed in its curent condition it would had cost the owner a few hundred bucks at least if not more. Than add the costs of the canvas, stretcher, shipping costs and time and effort to create the piece.. Questions and more questions

True I agree on that. I also realised that and my research shows me that many other works by him are also not signed and some others are signed. This can be seen on his website. I think the seal stamp on the back of the canvas is his signature.. it's maybe time to contact the artist and ask if he made this work. Thank to all

I think it's a poorly rendered Diana....notice the eye brows..& the eye positions...& the single drop earring...
