Please help with mark on porcelain plate

    I've never seen this mark before. Pat. April 2d 89. I don't know if it's 1889 or 1989? The plate is 6 1/"2. It reminded me of the Noritake but I didn't see anything like this. Thank you.

    That's lovely
    1889. I don't think they mark patd on things like they used to.

    I kind of doubt Noritake. The corners look more German or French.
    Would they have been patented here?

    Hi,
    USA patents are always done on Tuesday, no other day. I can not check this morning but look to see if Apr 2 is a Tuesday that will give you the year.

    Greg, that's good to know. I've looked up so many patents and never realized they were all issued on a Tuesday.
