    Hi,
    It is American I think Anchor Hocking. I have a couple of them. My Gram used them to hold hairpins etc.

    My Royal Ruby book lists this as "Crystal cigarette or jewel box with Royal Ruby cover, #E599, 4 1/4", $20-$25 complete." Book is dated 1998 so the price, of course, is pre-recession. You should be able to find completed sales for a current value. These aren't really rare and prices should be found with a little searching.
