10" Etched Vase Eagle & Pines Origin and age help, please

    I think it is glass but I don't know anything else about it It reminds me of some czech older pieces but then the etching almost looks Japanese for some reason Opinions/help, please Thank you !

    Approx 10" if it is older it is in excellent condition other than being dirty

    Sorry, I can't tell you where it's from... but it is hand-blown, colorless glass and has been copper-wheel engraved, not etched.

    Never heard of the copper-wheel I'll have to look that up Thank you!

    Engraving on glass is done with a rotating wheel. Some are like grinding wheels, abrasive, others, (the original form), are copper discs, spinning, which pick up abrasive bits of sand, corundum, whatever and trap them between the wheel and the glass, each bit grinding away a little glass.

    They must have a light touch. I’d break right through the glass. Lol
