This tag was in a box with some pens and things. Could it be railroad related?

In case you can't read it, it says "P&B Co. & P&H R.R." I don't think railroad is shortened with periods. So, it may not be railroad related.

    Any ideas?

There is a Manalapan Township in New Jersey and a Manalapan, FL. There is a P&H RR (line) in New Jersey. The P&H is the Passaic and Harsimus Line. Today it is a freight line part of Conrail. It use to be a branch of the Pennsylvania RR. I have no idea if it passes anywhere near the Manalapan Township or for matter I haven't a clue where Manalapan is in NJ. As to the P&B Co., it is nearly impossible to identify because there are today several companies with these initials just in NJ, nevermind the rest of the country. Nowwww, I did spot a P&B company in NJ today that is railroad related. It is an Intermodal company (containers, etc... for RRs). Nowww, I doubt this would be the P&B on your tag for this company is relatively new for founded in the 1970s.

There is absolutely no proof any of the above pertains to your tag. In fact I would be very surprise if any of it was.

Thank you very much for your research! I found so little and none of it made sense. You've given me a starting point. I may be able to find a railroad collector's board or something similar to get more info.

Just been working with the pic. I believe it reads C&B Co rather then P&B Co. I have seen mention of several C&B Companes in NJ. Here is one that seems to be RR related. It is mentioned as a RR station in archives of the Penn Central Collection.

"Above is a segment of another paper from the Archives Penn Central Collection concerning our R.R. station describing the land in May 1869 as land at Forklanding Road of Nathan Perkins and Thomas Wilson.

"(From the New Jersey State Archives, Trenton, NJ, "Penn Central Collection," Box 65, United N.J. Railroad & Canal Company Board Papers Jan. 1830- Dec. 1880, paper called "Description of Land at Styles Station C&B Co. R.R., May 1869.")"

Hardly 1/4 of the way dow the page under the top section "The Maple Shade Train Station."

To put it crudely, I think I had a brain fart when I typed that. It's obviously a C.

Ladybranch, thank you again for your help!

It looks like this may be a luggage or return tag. I'm going to list it this evening and see what happens.

If it has R.R on it , it's 99% Railroad.
