Persian Copper Goblet

Can anyone give me any info on this goblet / chalice? I think Persian and fairly sure that it is copper but beyond that i'm clueless. I don't want to sell it but would just like to know a little bit more about it. I cant find anything similar online but am maybe searching the wrong terms. Thank you very much in advance. Calum

 

Your goblet is more likely to be from India, with the decoration of the multi-headed cobra, or "naga". And probably of brass rather than copper. Still looking for a comparable example, though.

 

From the pictures you provided, the black areas look like inlaid (tarnished) silver and the material does resemble copper, rather than brass to my eye ...but perhaps that is just the light?
The construction, material and technique of the piece could suggest a Middle Eastern origin and if not Indian, then perhaps Egyptian, as they too occasionally favoured the cobra as a design element.

 

I have no idea how your images LOOKED like they were under 1 MB each, but when I tried to upload them after turning them right side up....they were way OVER the limit!!! Had to reduce the size....but still BIG!!!
