Another unknown pot needing identifying

    it has some markings on the bottom. Spain just appears to be written in marker, but engraved into it is 156/1. Another goodwill find.

    And now it's easy to believe the big writing on the bottom says Spain.

    Marker or paint? I'd think Spain too. That's an old fashioned hand so not new new. Those handles look Art Deco-ish. Or perhaps they're inspired by Mudejar pieces as this one was. Maker was Pickman of Seville and dating to between 1899 and 1910.

    Yes. Here's another with the same style handles. They're called "jarrones de la Alhambra" or Alhambra vases/vessels as they're of a style associated with the palace. Yours is obviously not the same amphora shape but I'd think the inspiration for the wide, flat handles nevertheless. Those and colorway, would make me think from Andalusia somewhere. Seville most likely.
