    Hi all,
First time poster on this site.
I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on the age or maker of this piece. I would also like to know if the wooden base would always have been there, or is a later addition.
    She is approx 8" - 20cm tall and with the base 14" - 36cm.

Can the figurine be removed from the base? There may be a maker's mark on the bottom of the porcelain.

Welcome to the board! It's a lovely statue. I agree with moreotherstuff about removing the pedestal. I doubt it was meant for that statue - the proportions seem to be off. Is the pedestal porcelain as well? Or is it stone or a composite? These types of statues were usually made in pairs to be set on a fireplace mantel. I'm sure its European but whether French, German, or even British is difficult to determine unless your statue gives up more of her secrets.

If the figurine is attached to the pedestl by a bolt, you might be able to loosen it just enough to see any marks on the bottom, but don't do anything that might result in damage. Looks like the lamb has lost a hoof.

The style looks German to me.

    Thanks for the replies.
She has been glued to the pedestal and doesn't look like budging. The pedestal has been turned from a really heavy piece of wood.
It does bear a resemblance to the figure in the link.
    Thanks again. Stuart.

The only piece I ever had glued to a wooden base was this:

I don't know who made it, but my guess is Italian.
