Help identifying axe type and age

    I just bought this axe along with some other various tools I plan to use and I was wondering what type of axe it was and the guesstimated age. It's unusually skinny and the only mark is USA on the side. I let it soak in some vinegar and then sanded it but I'm still working on it.

    I'm glad you're keeping it for yourself, because I wouldn't recommend sanding anything you plan to resell. Light cleaning with a rag, maybe, but buyers want original patina in most cases.

    Indeed it is, and one of my favorite styles in the 6lb. size, great tool!
