    Hi Antidiem,
In the 1970s I used to go to New Orleans from Manhattan to buy antiques to take back. I used to love to buy large marble statues and stands for 125 bucks and when getting back to NYC I used to sell them for 400 bucks and up.

I don't know, Joe, I was asking too. I haven't been to New York in about 10 years.

I would LOVE to find a new online used book site to sell on. I miss half dot com!

HAHAHAA! GREG, THAT'S GREAT YOU tracked the opposite route of what I did! I would specifically search for art nouveau and art deco items in the Manhattan shops to bring home to New Orleans! I would savage street stuff and ship it home for excellent profit! I stopped at every outer-city "garage sale" I could when renting a car and driving upstate too! ;)

    Hi Antidiem,
My favorite New Orleans buy was a Beltor parlor set, a sofa three chairs and a foot stool. Paid 150 dollars sold for a grand which was resold to a museum for 90 thousand.
Every time I went to the museum I used to look at the set and remember it was MINE for a month.
