Anyone have any information on this piece? It's heavy, i believe brass. Intricate, definitely old. There are some markings on the back that look like "203" or maybe "7203".

    Thanks!

Hello, Danni. There's really no reason to think they are phoenixes instead of eagles. Eagles in art/iconography often have a little tuft on the head that way.

    Yes, classic depictions of eagles.

Not sure what your definition of old is but I see reproduction from the last 50 years.

When we moved into hubby's family home (built in 1870) I had a lot of work. His mother had a fetish with 1950s Colonial. The wallpaper in different rooms was all a variation on a theme - Eagles, drummer boy type drums, etc. The light switch covers were heavy brass with this same eagle on top of each. The lamps were Colonial style with brass eagle finials. I believe this is from the 1950s-60s during the Colonial revival era.

Wow, thank you everyone! Not sure why I though phoenix’s... eagles make more sense. Interesting to hear they’re from the 50’s or 60’s! I thought maybe the 20’s or 30’s.
