Would like an opinion as to how old it can be. Measures 12"H x 14"D x 4-7/8"W. Weighs about 12 pounds. Seems to be two pieces and the seam on the outside is not visible unlike stuff made in India where you can see when it was ground off. That and the detail on it is extremely good, check out how the ears have a little droop to them. Thanks in advance. ze1.jpg ze1.jpg ze2.jpg

Yes I agree with Komokwa it does look like brass. Brass has a particular smell if you rub your hand over it.

It is made of a Metal which may be brass but is definitely a copper alloy. The mane is a separate piece as you probably noticed. I'd give it a date range of approx. 1970-2015. It is a decorator item but imho has no collector value unless there are lots of zebra bust collectors. I'm sure it is worth what you paid for it.

By a certain smell to it? Like smelling a penny? or a bunch of them, hate that smell.

I get an Italian vibe, mainly because I have pottery ones that sorta look like this. The ears and the mane especially.

Yes it's slightly different to copper. I don't normally go around sniffing metal by the way lol. x

Neither do i but when you cash in a piggy bank full of pennies, the smell to them is really noticeable.

No, no smell to it at all. Even after rubbing it it doesn't give off anything.
