    Hey everyone,

I bought this today from a fair for.... £1! I know it's well made and well painted but beyond that I can't figure out who J. M. is.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Might be the decorator and not the company.

    Any incised marks?
Can you show a picture of the entire back please.

I think your right. This colour and placement of the signature monogram reminds me of Derby view pieces with the name on the base. I believe that it is 100% a decorator.

The plate, other than anything painted on by hand, is blank which is frustrating. Maybe this was an experience hobbyist or is the plate too good for that really.

    It's a lovely plate.
    I don't think hobbyest.

    I think early 1800s. English.

Wonder what @janetpjohn or @say_it_slowly think about it

I like the early 1800's! That sounds about right. My other pieces with similar red signatures are dated similarly.

I am in England, so it will make sense for it to be English too.
