    more specifically the what does 1/47 mean? Is that Jan 1947 or something else?

    The numbers 1/47 are for pattern #1, Blue Fluted, their oldest pattern, and piece number 47. In the link Judy posted, you can see this and also the date code, which is the underlined A in Copenhagen, for...don't want to spoil the surprise.

    OK so 1968 then. They stopped using the gargoyle motiff in the bottom of the spout, I think.
