That's so awful it's cute. I went to an estate sale today before hitting the grocery store. Found a waste of time and gasoline.

Looks like something straight out of the movie "Beetlejuice".

    Hi,
Reminds me of some butt ugly things to hold scouring pads on the kitchen sink. Like SOS pads or Brillo.

Either that, or an ashtray for cigars; cigar smoke is nasty enough for it to be a fitting "end" for those ends.

Have been unpacking some inventory boxes and here are some items I found in the past year I never shared previously with the group. Time to get listings up everywhere... holidays are a'coming!

Right before leaving Georgia, I made one last stop at my favorite thrift store. I packed up everything and never researched or unwrapped what I bought... planned to unpack it here so it could be a surprise. I found one box yesterday, the second is somewhere hiding still.

It was a nice surprise. There were 8 or 9 shaving/utilatarian mugs, all German or Austrian. 'Mama, Papa, Sister', etc. A really nice all cobalt and gold one. Lots of Austrian/German/Swedish dishes. I'm thinking there must have been a big donation from an estate.

    And then...:

In the front is an EXC David Andersen Sterling Pin. $5.50.

The back right is a very pretty vase by Dahl Jensen. $4.00.

But the best find are the 'pots' (?) on the back left. I remember I almost did not get them, but like to take chances on things. Glad I did. Took awhile to figure out what I had or the value and I still only sort-of do. These are antique French porcelain pieces from Bayeux, circa 1850. $7.00.

A little more information can be found here (outside link):

    Have a nice evening everyone.

Today I spent a grand total of $12.75, including a buck on stuff for Operation Christmas child. The find of the day was a freebie - Federal sherbets, probably uranium glass. Free. Also some beat-up silver salt shakers...free. I'll have to get a shot of the sherbets and figure out what to do with them.

@daveydempsey - does the shop at 15 minutes in look like your house?

:D My house is neat and organized, small collectables are only in the study.
My storage lock ups are a different story.
