Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

is 8-7/8" tip of spout to end of handle and 4-1/4" high, not counting finial on top. I was about to polish it, but wasn't sure to or not, as wasn't actually positive if it was pewter or not!!!!! AND have read some pewters can be polished and some shouldn't be! SO, what's a body to do??? The decoration near the top at first initially made me think silver, but then thought, I don't think so......and I honestly DON'T know these marks!!! Age Estimation???? ANY & ALL help greatly appreciated, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!:):) It's been sitting on an antique cupboard/bar since we moved into our present house some 30 years ago.......it's either a bone or ivory finial......a present from my Mom at the time for the 'new' house!! Under those first letters, it looks, to me anyway, like a walrus, for a figure!!

In this case, EPBM says that the electroplating (of silver) is on a base of britannia.

Normally I think that polished looks better than tarnished. But since you haven't polished this pot in over 30 years (did I get that right?) you might as well leave it the way it is. ;)

Yep! You got that right, @Bakersgma!!! :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: It's just a nice small one that sits nicely on top of the bar (well, it USED to be a bar when it was Dad's!)!!!

It was meant to be polished, that's why it's silver plated. It was the poor man's faux silver. Even if the plate is worn it will still look brighter and different when polished.

So, @Bakersgma, DH DID polish it......came up brighter a bit.....which is fine.....should last another 50 or so years!!! I won't but IT will!!:joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: (Whoops.....looks like I need to straighten one game board!!!!!)
