I recently bought this set. I'm not having much luck researching it. Finding mixed information and I don't know enough about it to determine which is correct. Hoping to find style, age, name of the designs on the pieces and of course the value. I'm completely fascinated with this set excited to learn anything about it. 20200720_000632.jpg 20200720_000632.jpg FB_IMG_1595218749268.jpg FB_IMG_1595117258309.jpg

I would put this in the late 1920s-1930s.
American companies did this type of veneer work. However, it seems more ornate than most.

Did England do this type of work as well?

Welcome to the board Hodges. Be sure to check back as people come and go all day long.

Jacobethan Revival style, walnut, refinished. Cluttered is right about the date....it may even be the 1940s. Anyway, 20s-40s.

This is an exceptionally nice set featuring swags, cartouches, cup-and-cover legs, parquetry inlay, and scrolls. The execution is good; typical for the time, but not quite up to previous centuries.

Dining room sets, even one this nice, are only valued in the low $hundreds these days. These beautiful pieces, from the 20th century Age of the Dining Room, should be kept in the family if possible.

Thank you for the information! Definitely keeping it. I had not considered that it had been refinished. There's lots of dings on the trestle portion of the table, assumed from being used.
Over the years I've always enjoyed looking in antique shops and such. Always intrigued but this was the first time I knew I'd regret walking away without it. Lol
