Could it be amber?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to learn about costume jewelry. I hope to own a gem tester one day but for now I'm relying on google and lovely folks like you!
I recently bought a jewelry lot and this lovely pendant was in there. I've heard of amber and tried to find info and videos to identify it but it was not helping...at least not now that I'm a newbie. The stone is just so pretty and "firey" that it made me wonder. I was hoping y'all can help me here.
    Thanks!

I doubt it. The rhinestones are all glued in and the setting is costume. As the Magic 8 Ball would say, "unlikely".

Ok. Thx. I've heard of that...semi-precious and precious stones usually have prongs and back is exposed...I think...?
Anyways, thanks for your response! :)

Sometimes. Sometimes rhinestones do too. Occasionally you'll find a semi-precious stone glued into a setting, but generally the setting is silver. Some 60s costume pieces had semi-precious bits glued into a costume setting, but it's not common now. Better rhinestone jewelry often uses a prong setting, and sometimes a bezel set. Usually the more securely a stone is mounted, the higher quality the jewelry.

those brown stones look incongruous with the elegance of the rest of the piece..

any marks on the back of the metal....
    which looks nicely cast !

Someone glued jasper/coral beads where rhinestones fell out,you can see the fake prongs under a few of them.

Not amber, but a pretty lookalike.
Someone thought, any old stone will do.
Uriema, you can take the jasper/coral beads off and replace them with rhinestones that fit in the mounts, It will look much more stylish.:)

    Thank y'all. (Texas gal here:)
I did notice those chunks but did not know if it was meant to look funky or something. Lol
I could not find any marks on it.
I've been learning to sell on online platforms so that I can work from home. I recently decided to dip into the world of costume jewelry. I normally have to include phrases like "I don't know much about the stone..." or "Not sure if it is vintage..." so I want to learn more.
My goal is to sell items worth $10 or more.
    Thank you all again!!!

And good luck with selling. Items worth $10 or more justify a trip to the post office.:)
