Perfume Bottle or Something Else?

I thought this was a perfume bottle but an expert suggested it could be something else. The label reads Essence Fleur d' Orange and then there is some Arabic writing underneath which probably says the same thing. My question, could this possibly be for something else like cooking and how old is the bottle. The mold seams do not go all the way up the neck of the bottle which would indicate early 1900's at the latest. The bottle is 2 5/8" tall without the stopper and 3 1/2" with. Thanks for your help!

I would think it was a scent bottle. From one of the French-speaking Arab countries such as Morocco.

The essence of orange blossom is an essential oil obtained from flowers of sweet orange ( Citrus sinensis ). It should not be confused with the essence of neroli , widely used in baking and perfumery, produced from fresh flowers of the sour orange ( Citrus aurantium L. ).

Orange blossom essence contains 35% hydrocarbons and 30% linalool . Its specific gravity is 0.880. Its smell is characteristic. It is soluble in ethanol at 80 °.

    Derivatives
    • Orange blossom spirit = 1% orange blossom essence in 80 ° ethanol
    • Orange blossom water = 1% orange blossom spirit in water

These concentrated flower waters are also widely sold for food use all over the Maghreb and the Middle East. I don't think this one is nearly fancy enough to be for scent wearing.
