    To all,

My in laws obtained a Bernhardt buffet and matching dining room set in the early 1970s. It seems to be some sort of Jacobean revival piece. It was made very well, with dovetails at all of the drawers.

Have these pieces fallen out of fashion, I.e. are they worth much? We certainly do not baby them.

    Thanks

1920s. In favor these days if given a shabby paint treatment...... not that I would advocate painting a piece this nice. These are approaching antique status. I would suspect that the nicer examples from the era such as this will gain in value at some point. This craze for paint seems to be waning in some areas (not mine :().

Thank you. It has a nice patina. It and the matching dining room table are stained brown. Interestingly, the matching wood dining room chairs are painted white. We have a formal dining room in our 1920s Spanish house, so I would leave it as is. I appreciate your input.
