    Look at Japanese Banko tapestry ware. You can also search Neriage and Nerikomi as terms for some similar types.

    Thanks SIS, Banko is what I couldn't remember. (and that it is Japanese rather than Chinese):)

    I had one of these too, but not as nice as the one shown here, mine was kind of blah, with mostly brown and blue swirl, vase about 9 inches high and no marks I got one because I was curious and had owned many of the other types of Japanese pottery.

    SIS, do you know if there were different periods when they were made and exported? By different potters? Just curious.
