Who is this guy and more importantly, what is he made of?

I grabbed this at a sale last year at some point and have wondered what it is this whole time. Now it’s time to hopefully figure it out. There is a tube in the mineral formation that runs from top to bottom. I think the tube was originally taller but the top tip broke off as it sat in my car among a pile of stuff for a while. Looks alien almost! Really unsure but for some reason I was thinking Central American at some point. Now leaning more to Africa. Material has a kind of calcitey look but haven’t ever seen anything quite like it.

 

Looks like a stalagmite to me.

Ah thanks, you were spot on. Guess I shoulda just run with that thought when I had it. There’s a worthpoint result almost exactly like mine I can’t see the result though.
